Advocacy Visit to Bauchi State
An advocacy team from the Interfaith Mediation Center consisting of Pastor James M. Wuye, Imam Ashafa N. Muhammad, Imam Sani Isah, Rev. Bitus Dangiwa and Seth Karamage commenced the Advocacy outing on January, 20th, 2016 in Bauchi state.
the purpose is to present the relevance and benefits of the Human Rights (North-South Dialogue) program where a total of 50 people will be chosen and then shared, some will be sent to the south and others the north. The aim is for an exchange programme where unity and peace will be fostered among different groups in the society. Meetings were held with to the political leaders, Civil Society Organizations, Media houses and local councils of Bauchi State to facilitate their political will and support in the implementation of the program.
The visit saw the members of the committee visiting the Bauchi The State House of Assembly, Media Houses, Bauchi state Government House, CAN, JNI, The Emir of Bauchi, Tafawa Balewa and Bauchi LGAs where the ongoing TOLERANCE project was reviewed, the HR Project and its prospects were discussed, the delivery of Unilever Relief materials and many more.
All stakeholders involved including the speaker of the state house of Assembly, district heads, JNI and CAN representatives assured or their support in the realization of this goal.
